Q: Are you able to scan art with 'googly eyes', popsicle sticks, beads, etc?
A: Absolutely! Because that's the kind of art kids actually make! We accept art on paper up to 11 x 17 in size.
Q: Do I have to have all my art and text together before placing my order?
A: No. Once you place your order, you will receive a confirm number. You may log off and come back at any point in the future with your confirm number to input your text. You may also send us your artwork at any point after placing your order.
Q: How many pieces of art can I submit?
A: Our standard books feature 24 numbered pages and are laid out exactly as the children's books you get from the bookstore or library. The first three pages are for title and dedications, leaving the remaining 21 pages to be used as you wish. You may select for each page 'Art Only', 'Text Only' or 'Text Below Art'. You may put a piece of art on each page by choosing 'Art Only' or 'Text Below Art', leaving room for 21 pieces of art in your book. The last page is a great place to include a photo of the author and a few words 'About the Author'. If you choose to use the last page in this manner, you would be able to include up to 20 pages of art.
Additional numbered pages may be ordered for 75 cents ($1.50 for front and back).
Q: I only have a few pieces of art for my child, but would love to make a book for grandma and grandpa.
A: Books with only a handful of pieces of art look fantastic. Many books are laid out with text on one page, and a piece of art on the other. Also, you may use the last page to include a photo and a few words 'About the Author'. You may also choose to type in a favorite poem or bedtime song. The choices are unlimited to fill your book however you wish!
Q: I am ordering a gift certificate for my niece. Your site asks for an email address to send the gift certificate and she doesn't have one.
A: You may input her parents email or use your own. If you use your own, you may forward it to the email of your choice, or print it and send it as a hard copy.
Q: How will you know what is the top or bottom of the art I send in?
A: We have real people creating your books and they will be able to tell which way is up! If there are more abstract pieces that will be hard to determine top or bottom, just indicate on the back of the piece.
Q: How do I order multiple copies of the same book?
A: Simply add the desired number of books to your cart, submit one text entry form, and one set of artwork. When you send in your art, just let us know that you have ordered multiple copies of the same book. We have real people reading your notes when your art is received! You may have a different dedication in each copy of your book.
Q: Can I order reprints of a book?
A: Yes! To order a reprint of a book, simply click 'REPRINTS' on the shopping page. You may also change your dedication in the reprinted copy.
Q: If I order multiple copies of a book (including reprints), can I have a different dedication in each book?
A: Yes. In the text entry form, there is a space for your dedication. You may enter the dedication for each book in this field. For example:
Book 1: This book is dedicated to my mom and dad
Book 2: This book is dedicated to my Grandma and Grandpa
Etc.
